Traveling Pugs
I've noticed that, in my quest to find awesome pug pics, I tend to find a lot of images with pugs in motion: Pugs in the car, pugs at the beach, pugs in the air, etc. It makes me think that I'm due for some travel and exploration. I've been thinking a lot lately of leaving NYC and moving somewhere different. I've been living in NYC pretty much since I was 17. I'd love to go back to Paris with my chihuahua but I really balk at all that visa bullshit. Maybe San Francisco? I have a couple of awesome people here in NYC that I would hate to leave: My bestie, LFA, my awesome grandparents and other friends as well. But this city is so damn exhausting sometimes. I mean, like REALLY exhausting. Working full time isn't like working 40 hours a week. Its closer to 45 or 50. I pay a ridiculous amount of money for a reasonably nice apartment in a very ghetto building in an "up-and-coming" Brooklyn neighborhood. By "up-and-coming" I mean, there are hipsters and over-priced bars and cafés inter-mmixed with local establishments and population. This definitely puts me more at ease when I go to sleep at night to the sound of police sirens and gunshots.
I'm not feeling this summer season. I know summer is supposed to be all about long days and BBQ's and block parties and shit, but all I've experienced are mosquito bites, oppressive heat and torrential storms. With the exception of the recently-emerged foliage and greenery, this season sucks. Maybe I should go somewhere that isn't just asphalt and industry. Like Vancouver or Denver. I bet those cities have longer winter seasons too. I need to move somewhere cold and gray (like my heart) but still internationally recognized and culturally diverse. I'll have to see how the rest of the year goes. I love my job (despite the long hours) but if I don't get a decent pay raise, then I'm gonna be a free agent.

Welcome to Pugspotting
I'm starting this blog so that I have something fun to do at work besides eat snacks. Also, I have a strange fascination with aging pugs. No, I do not own a pug although I hope to someday. I'll probably post about random, non-pug related things from time to time and I plan on linking to some of my other favorite blogs as well. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to comment on the blog/send pictures of pugs/suggestions/etc. I'm not planning on discriminating, but please no anti-pug sentiments here.
